AMSCOPE-KIDS M30-ABS-KT2-W

Beginner Microscope Kit

The Amscope microscope is a low-cost, entry level type of microscope recommended for students between the ages of 5 and 12. It is a 51 piece, all in one beginner's microscope that comes with a number of tools and samples alongside the microscope (LED lit).

For this particular set, all the tools, including the carrying case are plastic, which helps prevent potential injury among young users. Although the eyepiece cannot be removed, it comes with 300x, 600x, and 1200x allowing for some flexibility.

Although it has a few limitations such as the inability to move the stage or change the eyepiece, it is the perfect kit for young students.

Some of the tools included in the kit include:

  • Scalpel
  • Plastic tweezers
  • Needle
  • Spatula
  • Petri dish
  • Shrimp hatchery
  • Eosin

AMSCOPE PS25 PREPARED MICROSCOPE SLIDE SET

The Amscope PS25 microscope slide set is a kit that comes with 25 prepared slides of a number of specimens of both plant and animal tissue. To preserve the specimen and prevent any form of contamination, the samples are well preserved in cedar wood oil and properly sealed with a microscope cover slip.

All the slides (composing of optical glass) are also carefully labeled, which allows for easy referencing. With a rare mix of specimens, the slides are excellent for learning for all levels of students including high school level.

While using gloves during observation would be recommended to ensure they are handled with care and last longer, the sides are safe and there is no risk of contamination from previous use.

Some of the specimens include:

  • Coprimus mushroom
  • Dog cardiac muscle
  • Dog skeletal muscle
  • House bee mouth parts
  • Hydra
  • Human blood
  • Liliumovary

My First Lab Duo-Scope Microscope

My first lab duo-scope microscope has been described as two microscopes in one. As such, it can function both as a compound microscope (to view microscope slides) and as a dissecting stereo microscope (to observe solid objects).

This capability is made possible by the 'dual cool LED illumination', which allows light to either shine up from underneath or down from above. It is also cordless (AA battery powered), which means that it is portable for field study so it can be carried anywhere. The fact that this unit uses optical glass lenses also allow for more clarity with 40x, 100x, and 400x magnification.

Currently, the only con is that it comes without a carrying case, which is not a huge disadvantage because you can get creative yourself and use a wooden box or waterproof protective bag for example.

Some of the features of the microscope include:

  • Dual focusing glass
  • Optical glass lenses
  • Two LED lights with six-hole disc diaphragms
  • 10x eyepiece, 4x, 10x and 40x objectives; and 40x, 100x and 400x magnification
  • Extensive, 50 pc accessory kit
